Good to Know Before You Book:

  • Stairs Required: The house is raised to protect against high water; guests must climb a full flight of stairs to enter.
  • Cooling: A central mini-split unit cools the main space. Keep bedroom doors open to allow the cool air to circulate.
  • Dock Safety: The boardwalk to the dock has a gate (unlocked). The river bottom by the dock consists of deep, soft mud/sand and is not ideal for swimming.
  • Pets: No pets allowed.

The Space

This rustic waterfront cottage is tucked away in the peaceful marshes of East Fairhaven, offering a secluded slice of paradise for nature lovers. Dripping with authentic beach-cottage charm, this is a place to unplug, unwind, and slow down. Please note: If you are looking for high-end luxury or a modern hotel feel, this laid-back retreat might not be for you. If you love old-school coastal character, you’ll be right at home.

The marsh is your backyard—perfect for spotting local wildlife or launching your own kayak or canoe. After a day of exploring, head up to the upper deck to soak in breathtaking views of Little Bay and catch spectacular, uninterrupted sunsets.

The Layout
  • Main Floor: An open, fully equipped kitchen, a dining room, full laundry facilities, and a cozy living room with two distinct seating areas (including a streaming-ready TV).
  • Second Floor: Three bedrooms and a full bathroom. The primary bedroom (Queen) and the second bedroom (Full) both feature window A/C units, while the cozy third bedroom (Full) is equipped with a fan.

Recent Upgrades We are constantly improving the property to ensure a comfortable stay. Recent updates include a brand-new stove, new leather recliner and loveseat, a refreshed custom shower, extensive yard and road cleanup, a newly built bridge over the marsh area, and professional mosquito and tick treatment for your comfort.

Dog-Friendly! Bring your four-legged best friend along for the adventure.

Guest Access: Guests have full run of the house, except for the shed and a locked closet behind the laundry room (used for owner storage). While the owners’ personal boats are not available for guest use, we highly encourage you to bring your own kayaks or canoes to launch directly from the marsh!

  • Beach Lover’s Paradise: Enjoy the luxury of a private beach right at your doorstep, plus an included town beach pass for exploring the highly sought-after shores of West Island.

Beach Pass Policy: For your convenience, a town beach parking permit is provided for your use during your stay. Please ensure the pass is returned directly to the house manual upon check-out. Because these passes cannot be easily replaced by the town mid-season, a $300 replacement fee will be charged for any lost or missing permits to cover the cost and the impact on the next arriving guests.
